What is Dragon Ball Chronicles?
Dragon Ball Chronicles (DBC) is a fast-paced mIRC-based battle role playing game system. It's based off the cosmically destructive fights on the popular anime Dragon Ball Z, and is an attempt to recreate the kung-fu fighting frenzy inside a chat room with all your buddies.
How do I start playing it?
Well, unfortunately, you can't start playing it YET. I'm still working on the game script! However, when I am finally *done* (or close to it), I'll release an mIRC script file for the game, downloadable for free. You'll also need:

mIRC
Someone to be the Game Master
A couple friends to be the Players
A Novelty DBC T-Shirt
(coming soon!)
What is mIRC?
"IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a virtual meeting place where people from all over the world can meet and talk; you'll find the whole diversity of human interests, ideas, and issues here, and you'll be able to participate in group discussions on one of the many thousands of IRC channels, or just talk in private to family or friends, wherever they are in the world." - www.mirc.com

So, basically, it's just a way to connect to a chat room for you to play DBC!
What is a Game Master?
A Game Master (GM) could also be called the 'storyteller' of a game. He/She is the one who creates the world your characters live in, who they interact with there, and basically what happens to the characters. The Players are the ones who shape the world (literally or metaphorically) and interact with it.

In a nutshell, that means the GM presses the "Start Battle" button, and the Players are the ones who win/die.
When will you be done with the game rules?
When they're done. Gah... I hate when people say that.

Well, I have no idea. It all depends on my mood. If I feel like people will actually play this thing that I've been working so hard on, then yeah, I might get done with it sometime in the near future. Otherwise... back to Counter-Strike!
Do you need any help?
YES! I would absolutely LOVE if everyone got involved in this. If you'd like to help with this game in any shape or form, then e-mail me [email protected] including, but not limited to:

Game Testers (I need these guys most of all!)
Rule Makers (Anyone who's good with making house rules for games like AD&D, Talsorian's DBZ, etc...)
Anime Artists (Who can draw original stuff, and not just Vegeta with his arms crossed... Mainly for the webpage and any manual I write up wanting to look *snazzy*!)
Web Page Designers (Geocities doesn't count!)
Anyone else who'd like to contribute.

Now, here's some stuff I DO NOT need:
DBZ Pictures
DBZ Videos
DBZ Music
DBZ Toilet Paper
DBZ
ANYTHING!
I already have enough Dragon Ball Z stuff, and I'd rather the game not be a 'Dragon Ball Z clone', but rather 'inspired' by it. Kinda like Bid for Power after the attempted lawsuit. Thanks anyway, guys, but I already have my resources for that kind of stuff.
Will General Green be making a guest appearance?
Oh, for the love of God and all that is holy... I seriously hope not.

At least, in the final campaign. But for game examples... All's fair! :)
Vegetus? Hey, you spelled Vegeta/Vegita/Bejita/Asparagus wrong!
To settle the long-standing dispute over my online alias, it is indeed 'VEGETUS', and it's not referring to the certain short of stature, blue spandex-wearing, bedhead punk. It is not stolen from popular Italian vegetarian (my arch-enemy) Alessandro D'Arpini. It's also not stolen from some Korean activist group. Nor am I a vegetarian.

Vegetus (veh'.geh.tuss) is the Latin word meaning lively or vigorous.

So n'yah!
Can I go now?
No.
