DSL Season 6
Season 6 opened as a very wide-open season; the Assassins were the two-time defending champions, but nothing about their regular season performances suggested anything but a good playoff team there. The Hitmen and Enforcers, who had long played secondary roles to powerhouses like the Assassins and Hornets, would make this their time to shine. The Enforcers took the Classic Division by storm with a 7-3 record. The Hitmen did them one better, going 8-2 to take the Elite Division and overall regular season titles. The Hornets did have a positive in the season, with Chris Trott scoring 52 points in the final 2 matches to win his third scoring title, but that was about it.

In the playoffs, the Hitmen and Enforcers both quickly dispatched the Assassins and Hornets, respectively, to set up their conflict in the finals. The Hitmen routed the Enforcers in that final match to win their first DSL championship, and a dream was realized as their captain, Daniel Engel, made the championship-winning catch to secure what had been to that point an elusive title ring.
