The DSL schedule was unveiled Sunday afternoon to much fanfare from the teams, wishing to see their match dates and opponents for the upcoming season. Among the many important matches in a DSL season, two especially stand out to the players: the opening match and closing match of the season.

But why would players care about matches that don't alter their team's playoff chances any more than other matches? For the Bullets' Arthur Player, it's all about pride.

"We love to play in (those two) matches because it's not only a great honor to represent the league there, it's just fun to open or close the season with your match, especially if you play well. I've talked with alot of guys in this league, and whenever someone's team gets the chance to play in a season opener or closer, they enjoy the opportunity. Alot of the pride is about involvement in league history for us."

Player's had his moments in the limelight in this way. In seasons 2 and 3, his Bullets played in the season-ending matches against the Mobsters and Hitmen, respectively. Both matches were losses for the Bullets. Season 4 saw his team open up the season with a loss to the eventual champion Assassins. His team will be hosting the last match of season 7 against the defending champion Hitmen

"It will be an opportunity for us not only to end the season well and (hopefully) head into the playoffs on a positive note, but we also relish the chance to host the defending champions. Hopefully we'll treat them well."

His well-humored self added a sly smile following this comment, indicating his rather malicious intent for the Bullets' opponents. The sense of pride already inherent in a season opener or closer is only increased with the chance to play a big opponent in the match.

Key Dates to the Season 7 Schedule:

May 8th: Arsenal vs. Cannons (season opener)
May 9th: Enforcers vs. Hitmen (re-match of last season's final)
May 28th: Hornets vs. Hitmen (HOR 8-0 all-time vs. HIT)
June 11th: Hitmen vs. Bullets (season closer)
June 21st: Season 7 Final
June 24th: All-Star Game
