Entry for August 12, 2006

I lead junior practice today.  We started with a 20 mile trail ride and practiced a rotating pace line again this week (2nd week in a row).  Coach Bob and Dennis attended the practice and Dennis took some of the younger juniors on a shorter/slower ride as they were having some difficulties keeping up.  Near the end of the ride I attached and our old sprint points and got everyone to begin working a little harder.  It was great getting everyone involved with an informal sprint.

After the 30 mile trail ride Coach Bob and I lead out an additional 26 mile ride on open roads, mostly flat.  This ride was only open to the older/advanced juniors and we ended up splitting in to two separate groups.  The stronger riders did a 26 mile loop and the slower riders did a shorter 20 mile ride.  I rode with the slower juniors and re-joined the stronger juniors for the remaining 10 miles or so.  The ride was a good paced ride and we all felt pretty tired by the end.

David and Danae said they were both tired.
