USING BIGSBY PALM PEDALS ON A STANDARD GUITAR TUNING
In standard tuning, it is best to have both of the two pedals pull a whole step.
B-String Pedal
The most common pull on any pedal guitar is the major second to major third,
(a Ralph Mooney like bend), a common "pull" used in steel guitar playing.
Play an "A" chord, leaving the second string (the third of the chord) an open "B",
strike the chord and depress the "B" pedal to move the second string pitch up
one whole step (from "B" to "C#").
G-String Pedal
Is best for the third string pedal to move one whole step for two reasons:
The 1/2 step move can just as easily be done with the left hand
with minimal effort without the use of a palm pedal.
While the whole step move is more difficult to bend with your hand.
This move is much easier with the use of the third string palm pedal.
Both together
Another good reason for whole steps for both pedals is for slide guitar use.
If you depress them together and you have an "A" chord (on the top three strings).
Each being a whole step lets you easily "cross-over" for slide style playing.
Additional Pedals
If additional pedals were to be install on all strings, the recommended pulls would be:
E - 1/2 step
B - whole step
G - whole step
D - whole step
A - whole step
E - 2 1/2 steps
