Before beginning the set-up you should decide how you wish to use the Palm Pedals.

a) Standard tuning with whole step pulls on both pedals (recommended STD set-up).

b) Standard tuning with a whole step pull on the 2nd string and a ½ step pull on the 3rd.

c) Open "E-Slide" tuning, a whole step pull on the 2nd string and a ½ step pull on the 3rd.

OPERATION EXAMPLES:

A) Playing in standard tuning with whole steps on both pedals:

Play an E chord and depressing the B-string pedal only,

you can get an E6 chord.

Play an E6 chord and depressing the B-string pedal only,

you can get an Emaj7 chord.

Play an A chord with an open B-string and then depressing the

B-string pedal, you can get a nice resolution to a full A chord triad.

Play a D chord, then depress the G-string pedal one whole step

to get a D6 chord.

Depress the G-string pedal before playing an A chord, and then

let up on the pedal, you get a nice chord change from A to A7.

Play a D7 chord and depress both pedals at the same time,

you move from a D7 to a Gmaj7 chord.

Slide players can get an quick crossover to an "open A" tuning

on the top three strings, by depressing both pedals together.

B) Playing in standard tuning with 1/2 step pull on the 3rd string:

Play an E chord and depress both pedals at the same time.

The G# will move (a ½ step) to an A, and the open B-string

will move to a C# (a whole step), resulting in an A chord.

C) Playing in an open " E-Slide " tuning & achieving "real Pedal Steel " functions:

The 3rd string G# will move (a ½ step) up to an A, ( 'B' pedal function).

The 2nd string B will move (a whole step) up to a C#, ( 'A' pedal function).

By experimentation you will find many new possibilities for chord changes and new effects.
