| 6 months of misery The sports world enters its most exciting time of the year err..Yawn! The New Jersey Devils have won the Stanley Cup! The San Antonio Spurs are world champions! That's all well and good but..errr..now we enter the period of time called the Peter Gammons Karl Ravich season. In other words Baseball tonite, tommorow, and every other day for two damn months! The famous expression "Going going gone" simply describes the times from now until September. Going going gone are the good ol NBA and NHL Playoffs. Although watching the NBA Finals between the Spurs and Nets gave us errr... ZZz's. But nevertheless we had hoops, pucks, and the traditional baseball team brawls. But again as I mention the team brawls third. As in if we weren't content with the very exciting playoff time of year, then we slowly flicked to a game between the Reds and Pirates! Yipee! Now we have no NBA, no NHL, and no football, because frankly the only thing to watch is the end of the free agency period. Yawn! As I flip though the sports section I see a page of baseball and read how the pathetic Florida Marlins did only to lead me to the end of the newspaper! Thats it thats all! Yawn! As if it gets any better, I get to watch the NHL Draft...The first pick is ????? who? Oo yeah that guy..Who? Yawn! Then I commense to watch the NBA Draft. The first ten picks after staring at a screen for a good 2 hours are all players I have come to love and care for. I didn't just say that did I. Yeah well after staring at the all exciting draft for the first 10 picks it ends up being all no names! From Northern Deleware, Slopokovic,Norway? Alrite it doesn't get any better then watching a foreign player react after getting drafted only to say through a translator..I am happy. Again Yawn! The College World Series is big..well sorta..nevermind thats baseball too..Yawn! Traning camp nothing like it, big bruising football players with hopes of all winning it all including the Bengals all come to reality when each team watches tehir best player get hurt as they trip over an excercise machine! Well thats still not for a month, the weeks inbetween, well Yawn! So as I write this article yawning per paragraph I honestly show my support for the next two months ahead. I mean afterall it is America's pastime that we still have to cherish. Cork batting players, steroid crazed bums, and those team brawls. Umm.. and there's the ESPY's.
