A Special Friend

If I'd be given a chance to choose a perfect friend
It would be someone who always comes to lend
A loving heart to understand me
And still like me for who I may be
To share secrets, joys and sadness
I'm going to cherish with all gladness
Having fun together with all our pleasure
Everyday of it I will forever treasure
But I know that no friend is perfect
So I try to see yet not neglect
That a special person might be here somewhere
A person like you who's ready to guide and care
Then came the friendship that I've been longing for
To you I will never close my door
For you have made somehow my life complete
And it all started the day we first met
It started with the smiles in our eyes
Then we began to exchange hellos and goodbyes
Each day we talk, we feel safe and secure
We made it grow stronger with love so pure
So I thank God for the treasure He gave
And I hope for the best that I can save
This friendship I know is so true
Especially in moments that are spent with you
