We cordially invite you to attend the 5th annual Pretty by Nature national pageant. This is certainly a different type of pageant system when compared to the majority of systems. Leave behind your fancy and expensive clothes and your intricate pro- am modeling routines and your big hair and make-up Simply bring a good attitude and sparkling personality. Read over this information carefully and should you have any questions, don't hesitate to call or e mail us. Embarking on a new adventure will be exciting but you should have all the facts. Thus far, Pretty by Nature has been well- received and we're looking forward to having you be a part of this year's event.
Required Competitions:
Beauty: All contestants will appear on stage in a simple. spring/summer dress of your choice. The dress should be without stones, beads, or sequins. It must be purchased off -the-rack , not designer or home-made and if there are any questions from other contestants we reserve the right to check labels. Dress may be short, knee-length or long and this applies to all ages. Any accessories such as hair bows, hats, jewlery should be kept to a minimum as judges are looking for the contestants, not the clothes. Shoes may be closed or open-toe and color of your choice, including black, white or color to match dress. When choosing a dress think of something you would wear to church. Don't come with a pageant dress. Scoring will be 1-10 natural beauty, 1-10 personality, and 1-5 overall appearance (the actual outfit won't be scored, but rhather general neatness and good groming.)
Casual Wear:All contestants will appear on stage in any street outfit of your choice. This may include short sets, rompers, jumpsuits, tennis sets, summer pant suit, etc...( no swimsuite). These outfits must also be purchased off-the-rack and we reserve the right to check for labels if questioned. No props allowed, but accessories are fine. When chosing this outfit, think of something you would wear to school, shopping or to have your photo made at the mall. Teen contestants may wear a suit, perhaps like you would wear to an interview. Don't overdo! And you cannot underdo at Pretty by Nature. Scores: 1-15 Personality and 1-10 overall appearance.
Note on modeling: Modeling ability is not scored in any age division. Contestants who are old enough will present themselves on stage in either a front or back "T" formation, Stabe will be rectangular shape. NO PRO-AM VOGUE, ets... Modeling allowed , a simple "Miss America" style walk and turns is all you need . This applies to all categories.
Note on Hair and Make-up: While we have nothing against the "Standard glitz" style pageant, this is not the place for it. Pretty by Nature is looking for the all-american girl next door beauty. Make-up and hair in all age divisions should be worn as if you wee at chruch, shopping, etc... Nothing more, Everything should be age appropriate ! Young contestants who never wear make-up off stage, should wear none or very little such as gloss, touch of blush, something that will not detract from contestant while on stage. Amount of make-up "help" and age-appropriateness is left to the descretion of judges. We reserve the right to disqualify contestants, without refund , for use of hair pieces, fall eyelashes, flippers, etx... Please keep in mind we are looking for natural kids.
Optional Competitions:
Swimsuit/athletic attire: All contestants may choose to enter swimsuit or athletic attire. By doing so, if you score higher in swimsuit than in casual wear, your swimsuit/athletic attire score will replace your casual wear score. You may wear any swimsuit of your choice, provided it is purchased off-the-rack. Athletic sttire may be cheerleader, horseback riding, tennis, softball, fishing, etc... Again we reserve the right to check labels if questioned. Props and off-the-rack cover-ups are allowed. You may go barefoot or wear shoes. Same modeling rules apply and scoring is the same as in casual wear.
Overall Most Beautiful: There will be one winner chosen for each 0-5 yr and 6 year and older. Winners will be shosen by adding your natural beauty scores from each event. (the highest of casual wear or swimsuit). we will have a tie-braker score at the bottom of beauty score sheets ranging from 1-25.
Overall Best Personality: There will be one winner from each 0-5yr and 6yr and over. winners will be chosen by adding personality scores from each event (the highest of either swim suit or casual wear). In case of ties, judges will break by discussion.
Overall Judges Favorite: This event is not scored. Judges simply make notes about contestants who stand-out and steal their hearts. This may be " little miss perfect contestant" or it may be the funniest or crankiest, etc... Whoever captures the judges attention for reasons only known to them. One in each of 0-5yr and 6yr and older.
Age Divisions: 0-18 mon.. 19-35mon.. 3yrs.. 4-5yrs.. 6-8yrs.. 9-11yrs.. 12-14yrs.. 15 yrs & older. Boys 0-2yrs.. and 3-6yrs.. Age determined as of day of the pageant . we do not double crown , we reserve the right to combine any division with less than 3 contestants.
Note to other directors:we will be happy to pass out forms for any upcoming events, however, we do not like the mess of having a form table. Please send approximately 75 forms to us by the deadline of april 15th we will include them in a packet given to every contestant and returning queen upon registration. Thank you.
Two Grand supreme Winners: One from 0-5yrs, and 6 yrs and older. with modeling ability not scored, all contestants will have an equal opportunity at earning this title. Winners chosen from highest combination of scores of beauty + casual wear+ swimsuit/athletic + all three overall competitions. supreme winners will not hold another title, buty may win any category in their age division. Must enter the entire pageant to be eligible. Winners receive $1000.oo cond, georgeous custom supreme crown, 5ft trophy and official banner !
Division Supreme Winners: One winner from each age division will be chosen by combining scores from beauty and the highest of either casual wear or swimsuit. Division winners will not hold another title, but may win any category in their age division. Winners will receive a $500.00 bond, Georgeous custom crown, trophy, and official banner !
Beauty Kings/Queens: One winner from each age division will be chosen on basis of beauty scores only. winners will receive a georgeous crown, trophy, and banner!
Alternates: Four alternates in each age division, chosen by beauty scores only will receive beautiful national awards!
Category Awards: One winner of each beauty, casual wear and swimsuit/athletic attire will be awarded from each division.
Overall Competitions:Six Winners will take home a prestigious title, Beautiful crown, banner and $100.00 bond!

Friday Early Registration: 7:30- 8:30p.m
Saturday Late Registration 8:30-10:00a.m
10-12:00: 0-35 months, Beauty, casual wear, & Swimsuit/ Athletic
LUNCH BREAK
1-1:30 P.M : 3-5yrs Beauty, casual wear , & Swimsuit/athletic
3-6:00 P.M: 6-Up Beauty, Casual Wear, & Swimsuit/athletic.

Sunday 11:30-1:30: Crowning Ceremonies.
Hotel: This year's pageant will be at the River Terrace Creekside.. You may make reservations at our group rate of only $69.00 per night by balling by April 2nd. Central Reservations @ 1-800-251-2040.
Miss Personality: Mail-in Contest !
You may enter the mail- in Miss Personality photo competition. To enter you need a great personality shot/ Have your own snapshot blown up to an 8x10 or have one professionally doen. Contestant in photo should look like a natural beauty- not glamour. Winning photos may be head shots or portfolio shots. No larger than 8 and a half by 11 please. Laser copies are fine. Think personality, Personality, Personality ! One overall miss Personality will be awarded and receive a beautiful award at crowning plus her winning photo on a ful page in Patsy's Magazine! Two alternates will receive awards at crowning and their winning photo on a 1/2 page in patsy's Magazine! (One from 0-5yrs, and one from 6 yrs and older )Entry fee is only $35.00 if you are participation in the pageant , $50.00 if you are only participating in the photo contest ! Deadline for all photos is April 15th ! No Extensions! Extra photos are $5.00 each. Do not send your fees or photo to a frind to give to us or ask us to meet you the day of the deadline to pick up your photo. All photos will be returned at the pageant, or if you are not attending , please include a S>A>S>E and they will be mailed .. We've had some terrific photos in the past and we'll be looking forward to your entries this year.
Referals: You may receive your entry fees paid in full by making copies of this form and passing them out to friends and at other pageants. Make sure your name is on the referred by line. To receive credit, Your referrals must send in a deposit and entry form by deadline. Must be a contestant who has not participated in a Pretty by Nature pageant within the past year. Refer only 6 contestants and you enter free! all referrals up to 6 you will receive $20.00 off your fees. Reminder, referrals will not count as your deposit . You must send in your deposit by deadline and we'll refund it if you receive referral credit.
Vedeos and cameras:No camera or vedeo equipment allowed inside the ballroom, we will have a professional taking photos and taping the pageant, You may purchase at reasonable prices.

All judges' decisions are final. Original score sheets will be hanede out during crowning ceremonies. Master score sheets may be viewed upon request. Any unsportsmanlike behavior on the part of a contestant , their family members or guests, the nature of which shall be at the discretion of either
director, will result in immediate dismissal from the premises and from competition. Penalty will be forfeiture of any and all awards and titles earned without refund. Pretty by Nature /Dream Angels Productions/ its directors, staff and the facility where the event is being held shall not be held liable for any theft, damage to injury , or loss of person(s) or property before, during or after this event.
