| (The scene opens in a radio studio. You can see through the glass window, looking at the DJ surrounded by a host of technical equipment. The DJ is a skinny ginger guy with a pair of glasses resting on his nose. In front of him sits a half drank cup of black coffee, leaving a ring on the workstation. Opposite him sit's two empty chairs. The 'On Air' sign is unlit at the moment as the DJ sparks up a cigarette. Into the room walks none other than Nathan Creed, dressed in a KoRn t-shirt and a pair of jeans. The DJ doesn't get up but motions at Creed some form of hello. Creed looks unimpressed as he sits down. The DJ takes the cigarette from his mouth) DJ: "Hey man hows things?" Nathan: "Good. So what are you planning for this interview?" DJ: "Well a few simple questions about your upcoming match and then a few call ins. That ok? Good" (Nathan raises an eyebrow as thwe DJ puts his cigarette on the edge of an ashtray. He motons for Creed to put the headphones on as he does likewise. Outside the window the radio producer waves frantically at the host, who simply smiles back. The 'On Air' sign lights up as the DJ bursts into action, pressing appropriate buttons and moving sliders. He swings a mic nearer to him and starts the show) DJ: "Welcome back to Livewire Radio, proudly sponsered by X-Net. I am Randy French and today we have a special guest in the studio. He is the man that this week faces his former friend and current rival, Orlando Cruze. Obviously it is of course The Dominator, Nathan Creed" (The sound effects of applause starts to play) Randy: "Hiya Nate. How are you?" Nathan: "I'm fine, but it's Nathan. Not Nate" Randy: "Ok...sorry big guy. Well I guess I will jump straight into the first question. What was going through your head when you clocked Orlando Cruze the first time. I mean we all know you were understandably upset with him costing you the World Title, but that was a bit extreme wasn't it?" Nathan: "Not at all. What you fail to understand is the importance of the World Championship. It is the greatest thing in the industry and it was cost by my supposed friend. Revenge was my first instinct, but then I realised that he must of had a secondary motive. He says he was trying to help me. Why did he need the chair? So going through my head were all the reason why he did it. Whether it was jealousy, some form of twisted hatred, a pure accident, or something else. I look back at it and maybe it ws an accident, but I stand by what I did as right at the time. Extreme? No. The right thing? Probably" Randy: "What about all the other times you attacked him, and wound him up? Was there any justification in your actions?" Nathan: "Of course there was. The second time was to make him realise that I wasn't joking about. I meant everything I did, and still do. The kidnapping of Sallie was possibly the farthest I had gone, but nothing more would have happened. I didn't kidnap Sallie to hurt her, just to lure Orlando into a position where I could obtain authority over him. I beat him up bad and threatened to run him over, that is all it was. A threat. I wanted to provoke a reaction out of him. They say that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Well that is what happened. The equal action? His attack on me after I screwed him out of the World Championship. The opposite? Sallie leaving him while this comes to an end. Maybe it will be my mistake, removing his object of not only his affections, but also his restraint. The amount of times he has been calmed by Sallie means he has kept a cool head and won the battle. This time he is pent up with rage, and he can release it on me but it won't do much good when he forget's to actually get the win. So perhap's I have created a beast I cannot control, but perhaps I have just caused Cruze to lose his focus, and that is where I pounce. I wait until the memory of Sallie creep's into his mind, and he loses his focus for just a moment. A moment long enough for me to beat him" Randy: "Do you have any real worries about going into this match? I mean it is three brutal falls each with different stipulations. Don't you worry that you may not come out with a career intact?" Nathan: "Have you ever wrestled professionally before Randy?" Randy: "Erm...well no" Nathan: "In which case you don't know that everytime we step into the ring we have that nagging fear of permanent injury. I mean when was the last time you saw Magnum? He injured himself in training, and the in ring stuff is a lot more dangerous than training. So obviously I am a little concerned for my own safety, but no more so than usual. If I suffer an injury then I will spend a while resting and recovering, ready to come back at full strength. I don't see why I should be worried about this match. I heard Cruze bleating on about me putting my hand in the bag of thumbtacks earlier this week, and to be honest I don't know what he is getting so wound up about. I didn't do it to prove anything. Why would I? The answer? I wouldn't. If he wants to believe that I did it for some obscure reason than I will let him. The comment about me wrestling like a robot? How can he honestly compare me to a robot? I said he was willing to take more risks than me, not that I don't take risk's. I have had my moments of madness. If he wants proof then what about the countless suicide dives I have used in recent weeks, or the monsaults I land on opponents outside of the ring. How about the biggest risk of them all? The extreme dumpster match I thought up to try to beat Derek Steel. To think he even insulted my courage and integrity. I fought Derek Steel three times with nothing less than sheer brutality, where most men would have accpeted defeat after the first. I came back for more where common sense dictactes you back off. To claim that I don't have the balls to go that extra mile is wrong. Damn wrong" Randy: "What about Cruze's revelaton about his criminal record? Did you know about that?" Nathan: "Of course I knew. Yet another simple trick to get Orlando to screw himself over. Now this megastar wrestler has just tarnished his own image. He has admitted that he used to hang out with drug pusher's, and was arrested for suspected drug use. True or not it is still on his record. The fans can make of it what they will. Whether he still shine's as brightly in the eye's of the kids isn't for me to say, rather it is for their parents" Randy: "I guess the real question remains. Do you think you can win this match? No doubt it will be a match for the ages, and will no doubt be main event material. Still can you pull off the win?" Nathan: "If I didn't think I could win then why would I be here right now? I would have said 'No' a long time ago. Cruze has said a lot of things that I disagree with, and vice versa, but when it comes down to it we only have one option to see who is right. I have always respected Cruze's gut's and instinct. He always seem's to know how to fight you, even if it isn't obvious, but then again me and him have never faced each other. Yet we know each other well enough to bring out the best, and then some. I think I can win this and show Cruze that not only do I have the balls but I also have what it takes to get back on track. He will obviously think he can win, but I hope he doesn't underestimate me like so many others have done before. Either way nothing is certain until that final bell rings and the winner's hand is raised in victory" Randy: "Ok...I guess it is time for some callers now. Hey there. Your live on Livewire Radio with Randy French and Nathan Creed. You got a question?" Caller: "Hi. My name is Jon, and I'm from Kentucky. I have a question for Nathan" Randy: "Ok Jon. Go ahead and ask away" Jon: "Thanks. Nathan, how did you get into ULW?" Nathan: "Well before ULW I ws with a federation called UCWF. Unfortunately it closed due to manergerial disputes, and all funding being taken away. It was the first few days after that Sheryl rang me and asked whether I wanted to talk about joining ULW. I had heard mention of the name, and seen a house show or two so decided to give it a whirl. Before I knew it I was signing 4 million deal along with a truckload of other former UCWFers like Psycho, Derek Steel and Cruze. Does that answer your question?" Jon: "Yeah...kinda. Thanks" Randy: "Next caller. Hi there" Caller 2: "Hi. I'm Mercedes and I have a question for Nathan" Randy: "Shoot" (Randy doesn't realise he still has the mic next to him) Randy: "Man she sound's sooo hot" Mercedes: "I heard that Randy. Anyways, Nathan, are you single?" (Nathan laughs) Nathan: "Not a big wrestling fan are you?" Mercedes: "Not really, but your damn cute" Nathan: "I'm also taken. Krissie would be a bit pis...erm upset if I brought another girl home. Well probably" Randy: "Actually, where is Krissie? I mean according to Orlando she stopped him reatliating, and we haven't seen or heard from her in a while now" Nathan: "Krissie and I are fine. She is just taking a break from work and stuff. She probably did stop him from retaliating, probably worried about him hurting me. At least I know she cares about me, unlike Sallie. Sallie said nothing to me about stopping getting at Cruze. Show's how much she really loves him huh? That is besides the point however. Mercedes, sorry honey but I already have a girlfriend" Randy: "Ok. Thanks for calling Mercedes. Well that look like that is ll the time we have this week. I would like to thank Nathan Creed for bing our pecial guest, and I would also like to wish you good luck in your upcoming match this Sunday" Nathan: "Thanks Randy. It was good being here" Randy: "Well thanks again to all our callers, and we look forward to beoing here next week. From me, Randy French, it is goodbye for now. War of the Worlds is coming this Sunday so go out and book it. Should be a good'un" (The show comes to a close as Randy picks up his cigarette and takes another drag. Nathan takes off the headphones and leaves the studio without even saying a proper goodbye, looking slightly pissed off as the scene fades) |
