Little People The story about the Little People or Moon Men are kind of the same, except the Moon Men come with the full moon. They both involve little people who come after you at night. They are very mischievous, gremlin like. The little people live in the earth in holes or caves and in the woods. They come and mess with things--cars, lights etc. They would try and come for small children. Those children they get are never heard from again. One time there was a strange event that took place in a house with a lady living there. One day this lady happened to look out her front door window. It was a cloudy evening. This lady saw four little folks, three boys and one girl. They were dressed very smartly. As she looked out the window they began to up the driveway towards the house. The lady became curious about what they were up to. Because the main entrance to the house was through the back door she assumed that's where they were headed. As they rounded the back of the house the lady went to the back door. Just as she opened it she saw two childlike people were stand out in the yard. They were jumping up and down for joy. The lady however was deaf and couldn't tell if they were made any sounds as they jumped. Just as she turned to call her husband the little ones vanished. Soon after some young people were said to die from a speeding car on the road in front of her house. Bibliography The Little People was originally told by Danelle Wilde-Johnson to me during a telephone interview. I summarized it for this web page. Danelle was told this story by her mother who is a full blood Chippewa. Danelle currently lives in Oklahoma City with her husband and daughter. The second paragraph of the Little People was part true story collected by Pat Paul. Pat lives on the Tobique Indian Reserve in New Brunswick.
