| A Tribute to a Teacher Through life's long and windy road a student goes, Climbing mountains, scaling heights, Treading softly on his toes, Lest he blunders into a mistake and can't make it right. A tedious yet unavoidable journey, Burning the midnight oil, working hard, Sinking down into the world of misery, Where unspeakable horrors attack the mind. But look, in the darkness of the night, Shining, burning, throwing its rays so far, Is a life-saving light so bright. Fear no more, the path is lit, little is now marred. And so it is that he charges into the battlefield, Armed with knowledge, encouragement and confidence, His lance so sharp, he jousts his opponent, He does it! He wins, he triumphs over the papers. Admist the yells and happy cheers, He rides back to the stands, He smiles, and bows with respect, To a person there and said, "My teacher, thou hast given me good advice, And guided me all these years. Takest thou this victory as a prize, Smile and make merry cheer!" then :: now :: that |
