Courage

I shuffle my feet,
Tiny mouse steps,
My shoulders hunched,
Feeling the wall for support.

Like a goddess she swept past,
On the catwalk of trailing stars,
Tall and proud and strutting.
Nothing could get into her way.

And I, who could only stand and watch,
Shrank into the wall,
Ashamed.
