| For Tourists arriving at Madras, now known as Chennai, have many places to visit in and around the city. | There are very important picnic spots around Chennai, Mamallapuram, which was the ancient Pallava Kingdom Port Town still having the pride of Seashore temples with architectural excellence. Few minutes drive from Mamallapuram are Thirukalukundram, where two birds visit the hill temple everyday exactly at noon to take the temples' prasadam, and Vedanthangal, the largest bird sanctuary in Asia. |

| After a few days stay at Madras, one can pay a visit to Madurai & Tiruchirapalli to see some temples with century old beautiful stone carvings & paintings. Take a 4-day trip to Tiruchirapalli, Madurai and Thanjavur, famous for temples and handicrafts. Or follow the side itinerary in reverse from Tiruchirapalli up to Madurai. Fly to Bangalore, a year-round resort. Proceed by surface to Mysore. Back to the garden city, Bangalore. From Bangalore you can fly to Bombay now renamed as Mumbai, the largest commercial city of India, Goa a seashore resort which is nearer to Bombay. In and around Mumbai, there are many places of tourist interest. |
| Arrive in Bombay. On to Bhavnagar. A 4-day tour from here can be arranged to Palitana, the seat of Jain faith; Lothal, the ancient port of 3500 BC; on to Ahmedabad. Visit Modhera, famous for its Sun Temple. Tour the Vela Vadar National Park in Bhavnagar and Nalsarovar National Park for wildlife viewing. Proceed to Ahmedabad by surface. Fly to Jaipur, the pink city. From there you can go to Delhi. |
| Arrive in Delhi. Visit Varanasi and then fly to Khajuraho, famous for its ancient temples. Proceed to Jhansi by surface. A 3-day excursion from here to the Shivpuri National Park, Gwalior and Datia can be arranged. From Gwalior visit, by surface or train, Agra the city of the Taj and return to Delhi. |
| If you choose to fly to Calcutta, now known as Kolkatha, or Bhubaneswar, visit Puri and Konark by surface. On to Bhubaneswar and Calcutta. From Calcutta, visit the Darjeeling hill-station, noted for its spectacular sunrise. On to Kalimpong, surrounded by picturesque tea-gardens. Return to Darjeeling and Calcutta. Visit the beautiful and secluded Diamond Harbour. Return to Calcutta. From here you can fly back to Delhi or Bombay. |
