OFFICERS

 

 

Badan Kesenian Seri Pekan/Day’s Studio was officially registered in 1997.  It was initiated by Mr. Md. Yusof Bin Akib, his daughters and son-in-laws.  The group  located in the hear of the Kelang Royal Toown in the state of Selangor.  They manage to perform all type of dance including the traditional, folk and ethnics. The members of the graoup consist of youngster living within the locality of the Sri Pekan housing estate and the others area nearby.

The objective of the group is to educate, promote and preserve the Malaysian dance to the worldwide.  Further to that is to encourage the youth to know and to love their tradition and culture such as the customary that we performed continuously in our daily life and living.

 

History of involvement in the International Festival.

      

1. The 14^th National Cultural Festival in Gifu Japan

2.     Exchange Cultural Programmed in Medan Indonesia

3.     The 15^th National Cultural Festival in Chiang Rai , Thailand

5.     International Youth Dance Festival Macau Republic of China

7.     Exchange Programmed with Kushihara Village Gifu Japan

8.     The 2^nd Huhhot International Festival China -2002

9.     The Andong Mask Dance Festival Korea – 2003

 

The group won “The best Performance” in Huhhot China with the title of “To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia”.
