Dawn

Stars fade softly for a new born day,
The great gold orb is waking.
Dew hangs heavy on meadow grass
The view is for the taking.
The amber sun begins her climb
Across the purple mountains
Velvet petals unfold
Into scarlet and gold
All misty like a fountain.
The robin sings, sweet and clear
The morning sky, now bright,
The fog has faded from the air,
The world is full of light
