"Dammit, Sandoval, answer your damn Global!" Frank Tate yelled at the
small screen in his hand, trying to steer the car and hold the device
at the same time. After a few more rings, he slapped the Global shut
and threw it onto the passenger's seat. "Oh, well I guess I'll just
have to interrupt your little session," he remarked to himself,
laughing smugly.
He knew how much the Implant hated to be interrupted while at the
club, but this was a matter of the utmost importance and Tate didn't
want to suffer Sandoval's wrath for not informing him of it sooner.
Ten minutes later, the Agent rudely barged past the woman trying to
stop him and yanked the door open to Sandoval's usual 'suite'...
* * *
Ronald was so caught up in his exploration of Erin's half-covered body
that he didn't hear the approaching voices until it was too late. His
head jerked up, roughly breaking the kisses he was laying on the young
woman's bare skin, as Tate burst into the room.
"What the HELL do you think you're doing?!" the Implant demanded,
raising himself up from his position over Erin.
"Sorry, boss, but we got a problem. Kincaid," the other Agent
explained, as Erin quickly sat up and pulled her dress back up.
Sandoval watched as the young woman hurriedly passed Tate at the door
and left without a word.
Tate glanced after the retreating girl with an admiring look that
disgusted Sandoval to the point of wanting to Skrill the other agent's
head off. He emitted a low whistle and turned back to the matter at
hand. "Apparently, the Major's got some pretty good hacking skills,
he just got into your secured files on the Mothership, including that
little 'project' that the Resistance will be happy to know about. You
want me to see if I beat him into silence?"
"No, leave it up to me. I'll handle it," Sandoval instructed, pulling
his pants back on.
"Whatever you say, boss. Oh, and, er, how was the new girl? Man, what
I wouldn't give for a piece of that."
Ron's jaw tightened at those words, Raven's low hiss adding testimony
to the Implant's anger. "She's far too good for you, Tate," he
muttered.
"Yeah? Well, I'll have to see for myself tomorrow night," Tate
responded, a cruel smile curving his lips. "See ya in the morning."
With that, the agent was gone.
Alone once again, Ronald grabbed the bottle of massaging oil off the
table and hurled it at the far wall. He had no idea why Erin had
affected him the way she had or why the thought of someone else
touching her like he had done angered him so much. But he did know
that he was going to make damn sure that the likes of Tate never got
anywhere near her.
Donning the rest of his clothes, he headed out into the hallway.
Before he had taken two steps, he noticed that the door where Erin
had disappeared into was ajar. Stepping closer to the paper-like
screen-door, Ron began to make out the silhouette of a young woman,
apparently getting changed. Though he tried not to stare, he found
himself mesmerized by watching her. He could see every curve of her
tall frame, the roundness of her breasts and buttocks, and the faint
outline of her hair.
Closing his eyes, he shook himself out of it. Get a grip, Ron. You're
not a pervert. But he couldn't help it, she was so just so beautiful!
He had come to the club that night to relax and Erin had served her
purpose there, but Ron wanted more than relaxation, he wanted her. He
was filled with the urge to charge into that room and finish what they
had begun, whether she wanted to or not. But he couldn't. Not like
that. He wanted to know more about her first; for all he knew she was
underage and sleeping with her would be wrong, not to mention illegal.
Not that laws ever stopped him from getting what he wanted before.
For some unknown reason, he hadn't been this drawn to a woman since
DeeDee. And it wasn't just their beauty that attracted him, it was
their spirits, their essence, even if he hadn't known a thing about
either woman until after he'd admired from afar.
Or not so far in this case, he added with a spark of amusement.
There was just something about Erin. He had seen so much, so many
emotions, in her eyes, that added to her outward beauty. And then
there was the compassion, the innocence, the purity that she exuded.
Just like DeeDee had. Perhaps that's why he was so intoxicated with
the young woman, she reminded him so much of the one woman he would
have sacrificed his life for. And in a way he had.
But whatever the reason, he couldn't just walk out of there without
seeing her again. If this was his second chance at love, at bringing
happiness instead of fear and pain into his love's life, then he
couldn't ignore Fate's helping hand. And, if their brief interlude was
anything to go by, this woman would bring him a kind of peace that he
hadn't felt in years.
Taking another step forward, Ronald tapped lightly on the frame of the
door, visibly startling the young woman inside.
"Just a minute," Erin's voice responded.
Here goes nothing...
