The Micah Charles Bloom III Collection
These photos were all taken on an afternoon in late spring 1997 in
various places around Minneapolis using my favorite model, the strikingly
photogenic SuperModel, Micah Charles Bloom III.
Dick Prosser, Cold Water Swimmer
These four photos were on display at Intermedia
Arts in their "Minneapolis 55408" show in the summer of 1997, right
across from a gross picture of some guy's nads (and a lot of really cool
art, too). If you went to the LynLake Street Fair, you probably saw them.
It was most likely 12 of my 15 minutes of fame.
The Dick Prosser Story:
One very cold (let me stress, it was VERY cold) early spring afternoon
I was walking by a little secluded park near Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis.
I saw a half-naked elderly gentleman, all alone, throwing 3 baseballs as
far as he could, walking to where he threw them, picking them up, and throwing
them again. I thought, well this isn't something you see every day. I went
down into the park and asked him "Aren't you cold?", to which he replied,
"No, I'm a cold water swimmer," pounded his chest and said, "Keeps the
blood thick!". He then explained that he was visiting from San Fransisco
(where he swims in the Bay every day) and was just out getting some exercise
and keeping his arms in shape. He let me take pictures of him throwing
underhand, overhand, lefthanded, and righthanded. It was truly one of the
most bizarre experiences I have ever had. He was really super nice about
it, though.

Gravel Pit.
Sunday Afternoon
When I think of Sunday Afternoons, what comes to mind is hanging out
with my friend Danh in Northeast Minneapolis, while he smokes cigarettes
and drinks coffee. He's not allowed to smoke in the house so he has to
smoke on the back steps or the front porch.
Arches
What can I say about arches? Well, nothing, really.
Individual Favorites
They're individual, they're favorites, they're individual favorites.
