Knockin’ on Doors

Knockin’ on doors

Shining wallflower I chase my own tale

Have you got five minutes have you got any—

Love for sale.

Come on throw me some crumbs

I’ll just throw you right out

I thought I’d knock on your door just to see if you were there

And would you take me in

Oh! You’d think I made a mistake

You’d send me somewhere else

Why do I—

Keep knockin’ on doors and knockin’ on doors

Knocking on doors and what’s it all for

You gotta open your head up!

Why don’t you talk to me, look inside my head

Why don’t you challenge me, are you afraid—

I might when

I might make you tell the truth

just tell me I’m a whore

it’d make a change-

Just to finally get a reaction

And I keep knocking on doors and knockin’ on doors

Knockin’ on doors and what’s it all for

You’d better open your mind up!

Just to stand out in the cold

Yeah knocking on doors

Well you can’t handle me, I think too much

I dream too high

I’m gonna knock down your door, if it takes me a while

To my heart’s content

If it makes the infirm smile

You keep wishin’ me away

I’d like to petition you

Oh why the hell do I

Keep knockin’ on doors

Knockin’ on doors and knockin’ on doors

Break my head against the wall yeah

Knockin’ on doors

Is it ever gonna change

Why do I keep knockin’ on doors
