Parents' Prayer

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray my sanity to keep.
For if some peace I do not find,
I'm pretty sure I'll lose my mind.

I pray I find a little quiet
Far from the daily family riot
Let me close my eyes and not have to think
About what they're stuffing down the sink,
Or who they're with, or where they're at,
Or what they're doing to the cat.

I pray for time all to myself
(Did something just fall off a shelf?)
To cuddle in my nice, soft bed
(Oh no, another goldfish dead!)

Some quiet moments for goodness' sake
(Did I just hear a window break?)
And that I need not cook or clean...
Well heck, I've got the right to dream.

Yes, now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray my wits about me keep,
But as I look around I know
I must have lost them long ago!

                                                                Our Father
our Father who art in heaven
                                        hallowed be thy name,
                              thy kingdom come,thy will be
done on earth as it is
                                          in heaven,give us
                                         this day our
                                      daily bread and forgive
                                             us our
                                       tresspasses as we
                                           forgive those
                                       who tresspass against us,
                                        deliver us
from evil but lead us not
                                                  into temptation ,
                                       for thine is the kingdom,
                                           the power and the glory
                                                amen

GOD, grant me the Serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can,
and the Wisdom
to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the
pathway to peace.

Taking, as He did, this
sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it.

Trusting that He will make
all things right if I
surrender to His Will;

That I may be reasonably happy
in this life, and supremely
happy with Him forever in
the next. <

God, give us grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.>

Father, I ask you to bless my friend reading
this right now! Lord, show them a new revelation
of Your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask You to
minister to their spirit at this very moment.

Where there is pain, give them Your peace & mercy.
Where there is self-doubting, release a renewed
confidence in Your ability to work through them.

Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I ask
You to give them understanding, patience, & strength
as they learn submission to Your leading.

Where there is spiritual stagnation, I ask You to
renew them by revealing Your nearness, and by
drawing them into greater intimacy with You.

Where there is fear, reveal Your love, and release
to them Your courage.

Where there is a sin blocking them, reveal it, and
break its hold over my friends' life.

Bless their finances, give them greater vision,
and raise up leaders, and friends to support, and
encourage them.

Give each of them discernment to recognize the
demonic around them, and reveal to them the power
they have in You to defeat it.
I ask You to do these things in Gods name!
AMEN
