This ending was scrapped, mainly for length. The script was already long enough as it was.

| We originaly had a longer ending planned. See, after the helicopter flew away, One of the Rex's would follow the scent and eventualy get out to the highway and start walking down, attacking cars and stuff. Highway Patrol would be called and there'd be a huge chase scene there, were it would end up eith Highway patrol creating a road block with their cars and getting behind them with guns. Just as they're reading to fire at the Rex, the second one comes out from the jungle and attacks them from behind. Then the two Rexes would continue on down the highway, getting closer and closer to a small town. Malcolm and Co. would be called back to help assit the military in the stopping of these dinosaurs.One would be killed almost right away, but the other gets away and continues on. In the end, it gets killed by missles from planes right before it gets in sight of the town. Malcolm would look down at it from a helicopter and start to feel sad for it.
