EXT. A HOUSE - DAY

Its a fair sized, fancy house with big
windows. On the street around it are other houses very
similar. In front of THE HOUSE, there were toys, including
Barbies and toy tanks. Theres a comfy COUCH SWING
with TWO PEOPLE sitting next to each other, rocking gently
back and forth. As the camera gets closer, we discover that this
is ALAN GRANT AND ELLIE SATTLER.
ELLIE
So hows working at the university?

GRANT
Its ok. Id much rather be digging up bones
but what do you do when funding stops, right?

ELLIE
Look, Alan, I know weve only been together a few weeks,
but I got to say this: I dont know what I was doing without
you all this time. I have no idea why I was with Mark.

GRANT
No, Ellie, dont do this to yourself. No one could
have predicted hed cheat on you. He even had me fooled!
GRANT leans over and hugs ELLIE for a minute, before ELLIE
Moves her head up and kisses GRANT on the lips. Suddenly
THE PHONE rings and ELLIE pulls away and smiles.
ELLIE
Ive got to get that, stay here.
ELLIE stands up and goes inside her house, leaving GRANT on
the swing.

INT. THE HOUSE DAY

ELLIE passes THE LIVING ROOM on her way to THE PHONE.

INT. THE HOUSE LIVING ROOM DAY

In the living room, 6 year old CHARLIE and 3 year old KATE
are laying on the floor, watching POWER RANGERS on TV.

INT. THE HOUSE HALLWAY DAY

ELLIE gets to the end of the hall and picks up the CORDLESS
PHONE from the RECEIVER and puts it up to her ear.
ELLIE
Hello?

LEVINE
(V.O)
Hello, Miss Sattler, is Alan Grant there please?

ELLIE
Alan? Yeah, sure, hang on a minute.
ELLIE shakes her head in wonderment at why someone would
Call her house for GRANT. She gets outside and goes over to
The swing and sits on the cushion as she hands the phone to
GRANT.
ELLIE
Its for you.
GRANT has an equally questionable look as he takes THE PHONE
And talks into it.
GRANT
Hello?

LEVINE
(V.O.)
Dr. Grant?

GRANT
Yes, thats me.

LEVINE
(V.O.)
Hi, this is Dr. Richard Levine. I called
your office at the university, but they gave me this number.

GRANT
(Smiling, trying not to laugh)
Thats fine. What is it you want Dr. Levine?

LEVINE
(V.O)
Please, call me Richard.

GRANT
Ok, Richard. What is it that you want?

LEVINE
(V.O.)
Dr. Grant, I think Ive found something that may interest you.

GRANT
(Smiles as he makes a joke)
Unless its paid vacation to the Bahamas, then forget about it.
LEVINE chuckles.
LEVINE
(V.O)
Actually, its not far off! You see, Ive
believed for some time now, that dinosaurs are still alive
today in some remote part of the world.
We can tell by GRANTS sudden change in expression
On his face that he doesnt like where this is going.
ELLIE
(whispering)
What is it?

LEVINE
(V.O. Cont)
Well I finally managed to track them down to the jungle
of Costa Rica. Ive talked to Ian Malcolm, but he wouldnt come

GRANT
(Cutting LEVINE off)
And with good reason! He has a good job, why would
he want to die? Im sorry Dr. Levine, but Ill
have to agree with Ian for once in my life, and say
youre nuts. Good-bye.

LEVINE
(V.O.)
Wait
GRANT turns THE PHONE off and turns to
ELLIE.
ELLIE
What was that all about.

GRANT
On, nothing. Doesnt matter now, I turned It down.

ELLIE
Was it going to make you money?

GRANT
(chuckles)
Thats the worst part. It wouldnt. Come
on, get the kids, lets go for a walk.

ELLIE
(Smiling)
Ok!
ELLIE and GRANT turn and walk inside, closing the door behind
Them.
Jeff: We originally had this scene in the script, but we decided to cut it out, because we felt it wasn't really important to the story-line, and was a weak attempt at giving Alan and Ellie a cameo, showing them together. This scene origianlly took place right after Malcolm turned down Levine at the reasturant.
