ALL ABOUT ME!!!

My name is Dawn Griffin, I am 22 years old (although in China I am 23!). I graduated High School in May of 1997 from Elkhorn City High School in Elkhorn City, Kentucky. But that really isn't cool any more because now I am a college grad!!! On May 27, 2001 I graduated from Berea College, Berea, Kentucky. I now have a degree in Education Studies. And like most college grads, i don't know what I am going to do with it!!

Everyday I change my mind about what I want to be when I grow up, and hopefully one day I'll know! I want to work with children and hopefully make a difference in their lives. Right now I am thinking about working in a Youth/Family Resource Center.

Currently though I am working as and an English as a Foreign Language teacher in China. I am living in Jilin, China teaching English to primary age students at the BBC school. Jilin is in Northeast China were it is going to be VERY cold soon!!! I am really liking it here, and and slowly learning a lot of Mandarin. Chinese food is much better here than in any restraunt I have eaten at in the States.

SOME FACTS ABOUT ME:
I am a vegetarian, have been one since 8th grade. I am not vegan, I don't think I could ever get that much will power, I just love my cheese too much!! I mostly like to hang out with friends, go drinking and dancing, or just chill at someones house. I was an exchange student to Slovakia, Europe. I went there through a program called American Field Service (AFS). It was a great experience for me and I recommend spending time in another country to everyone. My favorite foods are Italian, Slovak and Mexican. I have never been too big a fan of Chinese food, but I guess I will have to get used to it! I LOVE ice cream! I like swimming and hiking. I also like to draw (although I am not very good at it), to travel, and write. I used to chat all the time on the net, but with school I lost the time and then the interest. I still use MSN messenger to chat with my friends if any one I know reads this. I love almost all kinds of animals, but my favorites are cows and butterflies, yes I am strange I know!!! I am single, I was engaged a while back, but we figured out it was a mistake and we had an ugly breakup. I, for once in my life!, am happy about being single and am enjoying the time to myself.

For the school year of 1995-1996 I was an AFS (American Field Service) exchange student to Slovakia (not Slovenia), in Eastern Europe. There I lived in Kysucke Nove Mesto in Northern Slovakia.
