| I still occasionally toy with the idea of completing the Brio Superfund project that I originally conceived for my Master's thesis. This would draw upon an analysis of the Sagemont area, using data from the 2000 census to determine the changes in ethnic distribution in that neighborhood over the past ten years. That project involved analyzing and comparing school segregation patterns across the Houston Area. In Anthropology, I finished a Master's thesis which presents the narratives of postoperative patients dealing with some type of ostomy surgery. There has been very little work done in this area. Travel in 2003 and 2004 included a trip to Chicago and to Alaska at the end of the school year. Keystone was the ski area of choice those two years. 2005 trips included Germany and London, as well as Bermuda for the Golden Circle event where we saw Josh Groban live. I visited Mesa Verde during Hurricane Rita in 2005. I'd been there before, when only Spruce Tree House was open. This time, I was able to see some amazing ruins. The trip out though, gave me a view of the worst airport and freeway congestion that I have ever witnessed due to the evacuation. 2006 trips included Switzerland, Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Rome, Naples and Pompeii. Spring break of 2007 was spent at Angel Fire, New Mexico with the kids and Dennis and I went to Sedona and the Grand Canyon in October via rail from Williams. This year has been a good year for travel, especially since I am still working two jobs. Look for pictures of trips and holiday photos as they occur. I thought it would be fun just to post a photo of my Emmaus guitar buddies.- This is a shot of the musicians who played at the candlelight of the last Emmaus walk of 2003. Although I don't have time to do much archeology right now, here are some links to some of my favorite professor's sites and places to dig (or just see). Whatever else that doesn't fall into any of the above categories, including rambling thoughts and comments, you can find here. Personal philosophy, etc. Enjoy- |
