Here at Dawndi's Doxies, we are not a kennel. All of our dogs are house dogs and a part of our family! At the current time most of our Miniature Dachshunds are puppies, however, when they get old enough, we do plan on breeding them. They are all AKC registered and have wonderful dispositions! Our goal is to raise happy, healthy puppies, of good quality and excellent temperments! With two young girls to interact with them on a constant basis, we believe that this is an excellent way to socialize the puppies and get them ready for their new homes.
We are studying pedigrees and planning our litters ahead of time, and will not breed our females until at least their second heat cycle. We will not mix patterns, such as dapple and piebald. Our standing on this is that dappling on piebald spots only messes up the piebald pattern. This is our choice and do not mean to speak bad about those who do mix the patterns. Also at this time we choose not to breed dapple to dapple. The reason for this is that we do not want to risk having puppies with the lethal double dapple gene. Again this is only our choice and possibly in the future this may change, once we have learned more about breeding dapple to dapple. |
