Singer Ronan on new charity trek
Ronan Keating on his 2003 charity walk
Pop star Ronan Keating is beginning his second walk from County Antrim's Giant's Causeway to Kinsale in Cork to raise money for cancer charities.
He completed the first walk in 2003 and raised more than 100,000. This time his target is 150,000.
The 361-mile trek is expected to take 22 days to complete.
The former Boyzone star will pass through Ballymoney, Ballymena, Antrim, Belfast, Lisburn, Hillsborough, Dromore and Newry before crossing the border.
Bucket cash collections will take place in each town.
The money raised in Northern Ireland will go to Cancer Research NI, with funds taken in the Republic going to the Marie Keating Foundation.
It was named after the singer's mother who died from breast cancer.
The foundation's mobile cancer information and awareness units will cover a large portion of the walk providing information on all forms of cancer.
The Dublin-born singer said the support during the 2003 walk had been "magical".
He is expected to complete this year's effort on 6 June
