Here is ME! I was born in 1971 in Istanbul/TURKIYE one of the most beautiful cities in the world(at least I think that way). Mum calls me "Koca Danam" and dad calls me either "Sipam" or "Cingenem". I think that's why I am still trying to find my real personality. I am a Pisces.
After finishing Rami Tantavi Primary School in 1982 I started Istanbul English High School For Girls( now it is called Istanbul Beyoglu Anadolu Lisesi).I graduated in 1989.That's where I learned English.
In 1989 I started college at Istanbul Technical University
Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering Faculty. In 1993 I got a B.S. degree in Ocean Engineering and a M.S. degree in Ocean Engineering followed that in 1995. I am in the US since January 1997. I got a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNH Mechanical Engineering Department in May 2000. You can have a look at my thesis.
Let me tell you more about myself.
I am an absolute dreamer. I am aspiring, enterprising and forever following a bright, distant star, planning some new venture or investigating new potentials. I aim high and am not content simply with quiet, secure existence. I like to stretch my limits, to see how far I can go and to take risks. I am flexible and bounce back from disappointment rather quickly, usually with another hopeful new idea I want to try( I had no idea I was that good before I started writing those lines!)Woow, how good am I.I like competition (I even once participated in "Riziko", Turkish version of "Jeopardy")
It's time to make confessions. I am not that good. I have little sense of boundaries, of limits, of knowing to say "no". I tend to get distracted and to have too many things going at once. Those things sometimes tear me down. I have great sensitivity and empathy with others, and often sense things psychically or intuitively which prove to be correct. This also is a disadvantage from time to time.
Now let's see my interests. I like reading. I literally live in the books I read. My favorite cathegory is English literature. I also like Russian classics. That doesn't mean I don't read anything else of course. I like pedagogy book, psychology books, and short stories from different countries.
I like classical music, it calms me down. In my more energetic days I like listening soft rock (not hard rock!). Now I am trying to learn to play the guitar.I am not so good yet (you can ask my next door neighbour, they are planning to move out).
I like hiking but usually I have difficulty in convincing my friends to go hiking and we end up not going!!!!!!! I like everything about nature, especially lakes, seas, rivers, I like WATER.
I like dogs. I wasn't allowed to have any pets at home bigger than birds. Now my landlords don't allow me to have any pets at all. Instead I have my plants. I am planning to have a dog after graduating and going back to my country.
I like plays and movies. In my High School years I used to take parts in plays and I was pretty good. Good old days. Then science and technology became (for now I am a scientist/engineer) my first priority. Now I am trying to fullfill my desire for acting by watching plays.
