Dawn's Day

Dawn’s Adventures began with going to the CLCC Regional “Spring Fling” in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dawn’s first weekend as Dawn totally -- venders, banquets, dance, and style show. Plus going to Mall of America! Thousands of people walked past Dawn with no problem, everybody doing their own thing. Dawn’s courage increased and she began to have confidence in herself.
Dawn’s next adventure was to “Dress Pretty” and cross the US border to Winnipeg, Canada for a weekend. She is a member of the Masquerade Club of Winnipeg. No problem crossing the border even when the Canadian Border Guard asked for a picture ID! Dawn, like (cool hand Luke) handed the guard her driver’s license – of course it’s a boy’s picture! The guard looked at the driver’s license picture and then at Dawn three times. Then he asked a few general questions and said, “Have a good trip in Canada.”
Driving into Winnipeg and downtown to the Radisson Hotel where the check-in clerk said, “Hello – welcome – sign in and here’s your key SIR”. I didn’t think that I looked like a SIR, as I didn’t bring any boy’s clothes along, but I didn’t say a word. I was in a “pink haze.” Well calling and meeting up with the girls of the Masquerade Club – all went to dinner and the famous Club 200. Oh, What Fun! Saturday was shopping, lunch, dinner and back to the Club 200. Another wonderful weekend and another Dawn’s adventure ended.
Dawn’s next adventure was the regional “Fall Harvest” event in Omaha, NE over the Halloween weekend. (Even though it’s a 7-8 hour drive.) More activities, bar hopping in the Olde Warehouse District downtown, Omaha. Plus breakfast, vendors, lunch, banquet, style show and entertainment by Drag Queens from The Jones Street Station in Sioux City, Iowa. Add karaoke, and visits to Gilligan’s Tavern for late night cocktails. This was another wonderful weekend as Dawn.
Now Dawn was having fun, meeting other girls and going out to local activities/events of the Sheyenne Social Club and the Dakota TGirls Group. What a wonderful year of adventures, meeting, sharing and support. I don’t like labels: CD, TV, TS, TG, etc. I’m Dawn. I said to myself, “WHY did you stay in the closet all these years? When you could have been OUT and about having fun! Life’s too short” So I suggest that you start to enjoy being yourself TODAY – “Go OUT”.
Yes, the general public still doesn’t understand us. We understand ourselves and are comfortable with ourselves. Safety, discreet and private with our outings and our girlfriends. The Inner Circle of TRUST.
