Darkling Heart

by Nicholas klacsanzky

Still these droplets drip

From a charcoal-black sun

Reminding us relentlessly

Of the grim and grime

That seethed

From our corrupted past

We left a darkling heart

Harbored in our covert valleys

Of nothingness

Resonating with wicked melody

Roaming with reckless intention

If only we could flow into

Our sweet innocence

Like a wave of clarity

Smoothing out the shadows

Dwelling deep within us

The sinister desert would rise

Revealing our sacred serenity

Shining like a thousand suns

In the endless eternity
