David J. Underhill

April 10, 1999

Gazing at my brother in this coffin, watching my father and my other brother's grief, my heart ached at the idea of having to walk out of that room and leave Dave behind. So, I brought my camera in, and my father cleared the room while I took several pictures.
Only one of the pictures came out and it wasn't even good at that, yet, it expressed our grief so appropriately. Life would forever seem shadowed over by the absence of our brother and son, and my nephew's father, for the rest of all our lives on this earth.

I thank God everyday that I have the assurance of knowing we will all be together again, someday.
