A Little bit abouot why I created this website in the first place:
In my freshman year of college I took a class at the University of Maryland in College Park on Three Dimentional Art fundamentals. My project was to make an interesting "package", and to also make a website to explain my project on the web.
But fundementally it was to come up with an artistic way to transport, wrap up, or hold an object.
I would like to point out how often we take packaging for granted. For instance if you went to the store to buy some earings as a gift, when you buy them would you like it if they took the earings and just tossed them in a bag for you, or would you expect that they would put them in one of those little silk or velvet boxes?
I think my point is prooven.
This is what my project is all about. I'm supposed to design a package for something, and because I'm partially Italian, I'm researching the ways in which packages are designed and made in Italy. One very intresting thing I found was a "church relic" from the 1500's; Galileo's finger(really a chicken bone) encased in a sort of glass and marble pedistal thingy This proves the theory that "It's all about the packaging." Packages includes bottles, jewelry boxes, just about anything that holds, wraps, or hides something else inside it.
There's alot of stuff out there so it shouldn't be too hard. At any rate, as Doc Thompson says "keep on artin'".
