It was their last gig in Victoria for quite a while and the faithful fans were all there, and some locals too. You can tell the Melbourne gang, they were the ones at the front. Overall it wasn't a big crowd. But then it wasn't a great night to be out. It was very wet, as Commander Craig found when his wipers failed on the way home. Everyone joined in the singing, especially during Angel when, unknown to the girls, Louie, Leigh and Chris had their own microphone. Megan and Darren brought the kids along and as usual they joined the girls on stage. You could be forgiven for thinking Nitocris had become a 7 piece band. Everyone had fun except for the incident where a local idiot knocked Megan of a chair whilst she was taking photos, causing an injury to herself and her camera. It hope both make a quick recovery. One highlight for me was being able to get some good shots of Andi, thanks to the platform provided by some of the speakers. All too soon it was over and we were left wondering what to do next. We had seen our last Nitocris gig for the year, unless we travel interstate or overseas. However, I would rule that out for some of us. Perhaps we will have to follow other bands like Porcelain, a 4 piece all girl band playing around Melbourne at the moment, who have a similar style to Nitocris. While we were standing around after the gig, someone was playing DJ. It turned out to be kira. |
