MOUNTVERNON (Ga.) - Funeral services for Mrs. Orrie Scott Davis, 75, of Mount Vernon, were held at 4:30 p.m. Monday in the SummertownMethodistChurch with the Rev. R.L. Harris officiating.
Mrs. Davis died early Friday afternoon in a Savannah hospital after a long illness.
Interment was in the SummertownMethodistChurchCemetery.� Pallbears were DeWitt Wood, Bud Hughes, J.D. Spoons, Cecil Rackley, Edward Richardson and James Morris.
A former resident of EmanuelCounty, Mrs. Davis had lived in Mount Vernon for the past 26 years. She was the widow of C.J. Davis and a member of the SummertownMethodistChurch.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Luther Scott of TwinCity and Mrs. Syders O?Conner of Mount Vernon; seven sons, Arthur D. Davis of Pearson, Henry H. Davis of Augusta, Guy E. Davis of Pooler, Sam E. Davis of Dade City, Fla., Charles L. Davis serving with the U.S. Air Force in Valdosta, Robert Thurston Davis of Mount Vernon, John M. Davis, serving with the U.S. Air Force in Guam; a sister, Mrs. John Scott of Swainsboro; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
