| The fact that Jugger Davis divorced Lucretia and married another woman in the same year that his 4th child was born is somewhat problematic.� However, the preponderance of the evidence still points to Joseph "Jugger" Davis being Lucretia's husband and the father of her four sons.� One of the strongest pieces of evidence supporting this assertion is an interview with Jeremiah Wesley Davis and David Larkin Davis conducted by Oza Davis in 1957.� Also, in 2000, I obtained unsolicted confirmation of the identify of Jugger Davis from a cousin through Charles "Charley" Davis' line.� Combined with the circumstantial evidence from the files of Oza Davis, I believe Joseph Davis was our legendary (but somewhat infamous) ancestor, "Jugger" Davis.��� | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
