This indenture made this twenty seventh day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four between John M. Wiggins of the County of Emanuel State aforesaid and Thomas Barber as (trustee) of the County of Washington of the other part witnesseth that the said John M.Wiggins for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid hath granted bargained sold and conveyed unto Thomas Barber as Trustee for Sarah Wiggins and her Children two tracts or pieces of land in Emanuel County one containing four hundred and fifty acres adjoining (Obertriet?) and others said land (satkin ref mander) head rights by John M. Wiggins under a warrant dated ninth day of November 1850 and surveyed the twenty fifth day of April 1851. The other tract containing one hundred acres adjoining John M. Wiggins James Grubbs and other taken up under head rights by said Wiggins under a warrant dated September thirteenth 1851 and surveyed the twelfth day of January 1853.� To have and to hold said bargained lands unto him the said Thomas Barber Trustee to the sole (fo of ir) use and benefit of said Sarah Wiggins and the heirs of her body for ever in (feesimfle). And the said John M. Wiggins for himself his heirs Executors and Adminstrators the said bargained promises unto the said Thomas Barber Trustee will (will) warrant and forever defend the right and title against the claims of himself and heirs and against the claims of all other persons whatever.
