| Problems in slowing soil erosion due to human causes are: 1)how we understand the problem. We have to slow erosion from humans. We can't stop natural erosion while stopping human-caused erosion. 2) Erosion control in very new to us so how do we create the equipment to stop erosion? 3) Who's definition of erosion will we follow? If we follow Professor Morgan's definition, which is as follows: Soil differs from region to region, we will need different strengths and equipment for the different climates and terrain. Tolerance for soil importance to life differs from region to region. One way to protect land and soil from erosion is to stop natural causes from causing erosion. Not exactly stop water and rain but only keep enough to sustain farming or destroyed area. This is to stop total soil nutrient lossage. The problem is this could effect the environment in good and bad ways. It restores and keeps nutrients in the soil, but if there were a drought the vegetation and animals could suffer severely. Even if this solution could cause problems, it will help until new solutions are found. |
