| Water clarity was about 2 foot and temps ranged from 55-57 degrees at mid-lake. I fished all the way from the mouth to the back of Tanyard Branch (Red Gate Area) and McKeeknie with not a single hit. Threw everything in the box at 'em too. Fished my way to the backs, turned, and fished my way back out. Flipped a black/black jig at every piece of wood I could find in Tanyard Branch and threw a white/chartruese spinnerbait at everything in McKeeknie. Tried a white fluke, firetiger crankbait, hard jerkbait (chrome/blue back), red chartruese rattletrap, and a hot mustard crankbait. A cold front pushed through last night and may have put a damper on the fishing. Air temps were 60 degrees with winds out of the south at 10-15 mph. This was my first trip out with my boat since having it repaired. Still have some minor flaws to take care of, but for the most part, she's coming around. I can't wait to go again!!!! |
