| Are you love's servant? An angel who bears its cup? Or are you the world's minion? Here to pillage and plunder for the sake of your dominion This cup you bear could be your horse; my love and trust, the realm of Troy If I open myself to your gift, would you use it as a weapon and my hopes and dreams destroy? I want to give out the order to lower the bridge that spans this moat between us; to wave the flag and call a truce but the truth is, I have much to lose If only you were God's servant what a blessing that would be! I'd send word throughout the land and have a celebration in your name You'd be my greatest alliance and I'd crown you king of my domain Copyright 2007 Beatriz Oliver |
