Dzien dobry (djen dobri)!

We are so thrilled to be able to say that our last full week is done and we will be leaving for home on Wednesday morning around 1:00 AM, Poland time.  Our flight does not leave Gdansk until 7:10 AM but it takes about 4 hours to get to the airport and we have to be there at least 2 hours early. We fly from Gdansk, Poland to Copenhagen, Denmark to Newark, NJ and finally to Rochester.  We should arrive in Rochester around 5:30 PM on Wednesday, Rochester time.  We are not looking forward to the long trip, but we are looking forward to being home and seeing our children once again.  We are so thankful to our parents for the sacrifices that they have made during this month to run our household in our absence.  We are also thankful to everyone in our church family who has helped out with watching our kids, running them somewhere special, cooking meals for our family, sending us email, getting new tires for our car, and the list goes on and on.  We are also grateful to the people that have stood in the gap for us in our ministries through this month.  It has meant an extra burden for many and we are thankful for each one of you. This trip definitely involved more than just Alan and I for it to happen.  Of course, we can not say how much your prayers have meant to us.  We were encouraged so often and just being here has been an amazing experience.

Davin's school has been wonderful through this whole month. We have received many emails while we have been here.  The best part is that they have spent much time researching Poland, our route that we traveled to get here and the treatment that Davin has gotten while we have been here.  I am sure that they now know much more about Poland than I do, but we certainly know the inside of the Euromed quite well!

Davin had a great week this week.  Monday through Thursday were awesome with him doing his exercises faster and faster and with less help than before from his therapists.  Friday and Saturday weren't as good, but we are still pleased with his efforts this week.  It is very hard any time a child does not work to their full potential, but we have to remember that Davin is only 9 years old.  I know that I would have a very difficult time working six days a week like he has.

On Monday we see the doctor for the last time and he makes a recommendation as to whether we should come back or not.  Our therapist has told us that she feels it would be beneficial for us to come back in 5 months.  We are praying about that.  We are really starting to see the benefit of having such intensive therapy but it seems like there is still such a long way to go.  Despite the hardship to our family and the seeming impossibility of it all, we know that God is able and we want His best for Davin.

Tuesday is a regular day for Davin, but Alan and I will work with the therapists to learn how to do the exercises at home.  We will also get a list of how often we should do certain exercises and which exercises we should focus on.  We are looking forward to that because that will be the final thing before heading home.  It has certainly been a blessed time, but it has also been a long month.  I didn't think we would ever get to the end.

We have met some incredible people and been privileged to get to know some amazing kids while we are here.  I have been able to take part in a prayer meeting with some other Christian mothers twice and that was such a blessing.  Our hearts are so much the same!  I don't know if God just sends many of his children over here or what, but the amount of Christians here at the same time was incredible to me.  Just one more of God's blessings!

We take so much away from our experience here.  Thank you to all of you for your support.  We look forward to seeing everyone very soon!  By the way, I just want to tell our teens and the Sparkies that we have missed them and are very excited to get home to see them again.

Love,
Heather for Alan and Daveen
