Dzień Dobry,
That means good morning. We hear that
alot around here, but for the most part, the rest of the language eludes me.
I think Davin understands much more than I do, but the therapists speak Polish
so frequently around him, he is bound to pick up some of it.
This has been a very difficult week. Alan
got to England and back with no problems and we were not nervous to be without
him for the five days. We settled quickly into our routine, but Davin
had a difficult time being motivated throughout the week. Monday went
great, but Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday were so frustrating. I was
feeling discouraged about coming all the way over here and him not
working hard every single day. Kasha, our head therapist, explained that
all of the kids have a few days out of the month where they just are wiped
out. She never lets Davin think that he can feel tired, but she knows
that it is hard work.
On Thursday night, 6 of us mothers decided to
get together and pray for our children. Many of the kids were struggling because we
have been here so long now. It was a wonderful time of praying for
our kids and being thankful for them. The next day went much better and
today was better as well. Davin did struggle today through one exercise,
but after getting in some trouble and realizing that he had to finish the
exercise, he did do it. The big development of the week was Davin
holding his own weight with his arms and legs while in a crawling position.
We will be so glad to be back home again.
It seems as if we have been away forever. We are very thankful to
everyone who has written to us and encouraged us in that way. We are
very thankful for all of the prayers that have been lifted up on Davin's
behalf. We look forward to seeing everyone very soon and are so
glad that we are more than halfway done!
We have been able to post some pictures and
copies of the updates that have been sent on a website for those who are
interested. You can find it at http://www.geocities.com/davinbruce.
It is certainly not fancy but it makes it easier for us to get the pictures
out to everyone.
Love from Poland,
Heather for Alan and Daveen, too
