| The story starts out with a prophecy( I know, where do these people live were there are still prophets) in which a warrior queen will be born who will save the land from plague & drought ( you know the usual). However, the twist in this book is that when the girl child is born, she has a twin brother who some wizards kill in order to have the girl assume his form. So the girl doesn't even know she is a girl through the majority of this book. Her mother goes nuts with the grief & knowledge & her father turns away. Plus the girl/boy's dead twin is now a vengeful poltergeist terrorizing the house. It is the first book in a haunting new series & I am not doing it justice in the explaination, so click & read the info yourself. I have to say that this book stayed with me well after I read it.. you could even say it haunted me to read it again. |
