Anyone seriously interested in the freedom of religion in America will treasure this booklet. This is one of the most insightful publications ever written about the freedom of religion in America. David New teaches you to view religious freedom in America from the whole period of American history. It is only by seeing religion law from this perspective that you will have a clear understanding of religious freedom in America today. Most important, David New says that Americans are totally unaware that the state governments gave us the historic levels of religious freedom we enjoy today. The pattern for religious freedom in America was set by the states, not by the U.S. Supreme Court, the First Amendment or the Federal Government. David New teaches you how the U.S. Supreme Court has led America away from the vision the framers of our Constitution had for religious freedom in America----from a model of local self rule for religion law to a highly centralized and authoritarian model. Liberal groups like the ACLU and Americans United who support government control of religious speech in America will not like anything David has to say in this book.
