| Correlation | |||||
| Correlation is the comparison of two separate outcomes and their relation. An example of this is "a persons future ability is correlated to their past performance". Correlations can be positive or negative in direction. If positive, as one outcome increases, so does the other. If negative, as one increases, the other decreases. Correlation varies from -1 to 0 to +1. A zero indicates no or a random relationship and a one indicates a very strong relationship. When negative, if one outcome is high, then the other outcome is low. When positive, the two outcomes will both be either high or low simultaneously. |
