CCHS Page 4
Other classroom areas, like this science class and lab layout, do not utilize outside lighting.  Both areas do have at least two doors for entry and exit.  This provides an increased safety factor for these areas.
This area, known as the "cafetorium" serves two different purposes.  During school hours, it is the cafateria in which the students eat breakfast and lunch.  Its other purpose is for assemblies, seating up to 600.  This area is utilized by the community regularly.  It connects directly to the entrance way.  Notice the glass bricks in the real for difused natural lighting.
The halls are adequately sized and restroom facilities are located in strategic places.  Specialized instruction areas are designed with their intended use in mind.  This is evifdent in the art, band, and chorus areas.  The technology career classrooms are designed based upon the instructional area, with adequate labs and work areas.  The entire facility has access to computer technology through the network and many computer labs and work stations.

While the CCHS building has many significant design features that increase its appeal and usefullness, it does have its negative aspects.  As the layout indicates, many interior classrooms do not have windows.  While some are labs where this is not appropriate, many are regular classrooms and would benefit from having windows.
