Saw your name in “The Retired Officers Magazine”, July ‘93 edition.

Would be very interested in joining organization/reunion involving the 21st RAC “Black Aces”.

While not actually a member of the company I flew with the 21st RAC almost daily from Mar 68 until Nov 68 as the Senior Aerial Observor for the AMERICAL Division Artillery. Was awarded 11 Air medals so you can see that I wasn’t just a staff officer making occasional rides to get on “flight pay”. In my flight log I have the names of pilots I flew with out of Chu Lai. You might also want to include all the AO’s (Aerial Observors) from the Americal Div Arty who flew daily with the 21st.

Have you thought about contacting the “Bird dog Association” in Albuquerque, NM for names? Very likely some of the 21st pilots are members of this association.

One burning question. Do you know what became of LT Shortall (68-69)? I had heard that he was killed in early 69, but was never able to confirm this.

Sincerely,

Glen C. Davis
