The Vliet's Big Move to Austin |

Hi Friends:
This amateur attempt at creating a website is designed to give our family and friends a little look at our big move and new life in Austin, Texas. Why Austin? Most of you know why we moved here in 2002, but it has alot to do with the fact that Pauly's mom and dad moved to Dallas...long story short, David applied for a position with the City of Austin (kind of on a whim, although Austin was top of the list of cities in Texas to move to). One thing led to another, and he landed the job.
In July, he came out ahead of the family, finishing up an almost five year stint with the Nemours Childrens Clinic, a pediatric sub-specialty clinc, to go back into primary care |

Speaking of which, this is one of the places one will find jazz of in Austin- - those of you's that know me, know I love jazz. Since there is no jazz station, this place had to do. They have live jazz, 365 days a year. I have played here at the jam session on a three occasions and I sat in once with some musicians who decided to see what I could do... |

I don't claim to be a photographer, but here's a nite shot of Texas's captital building on Congress Avenue, downtown Austin. You might recall this street being filled up when during the Presidential Elections between Gore and Bush....

Somehow within weeks, I was already back in the groove playing keyboards at church? Isn't that great? (That lower keyboard is the wonderful Yamaha S90. I love it. Many of you know about our deep faith in Christ, and this little church that meets in a elementary school has proven to be a great benefit in moving here to TX. |
