The Cyborg (Fe)Man/ual
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Elijah Johnston-Heck's Preface

We have embarked on this collective mission to problematize all that must be considered in the creation of the cyborg of the future, our (Fe)Man/ual, and have constantly struggled with the concept that the being we create will not be "perfect" due to some failure on our part in facilitating his/her/its education. What we must remember through this entire process, and what we must remember fifty years into the future when our Iron Man is birthed, that we are not simply creating a machine, but a cyborg, implying its mechanized lineage as well as its flesh and blood, which we will all be. If we are successful in creating a being with its own agency and the level of MultiWOK/DB that we have repeatedly discussed, then our Frankenstein's Monster will see our failures for what they are and forgive us for them, for he/she/it will not be constrained by our WOK if he/she/it possesses multiWOK.
On the topic of our cyborg's appearance, a topic which we discussed at length, but basically dropped, I am a firm believer in the necessity for our cyborg to be able to change his/her/its appearance at will. This does not imply some sort of "chameleon mode" where he/she/it automatically looks like those he/she/it is surrounded by, it implies that our cyborg, utilizing his/her/its free will and MultiWOK/DB will be able to alter his/her/its appearance in accordance with what he/she/it hopes to learn from a specific experience. I feel strongly that our cyborg should have the ability to communicate and learn from everyone and anyone, and this "shape shifting" ability is a small but important part of that process.
I'd like to stress yet again how important I feel it is for our cyborg to be given abilities far surpassing all human capabilities, but for those abilities not to imply a purpose any more than our talents imply a purpose in our lives. If our Iron Man is built in a manner where it is incorporated into the machinations of capitalism and forced to participate in the generation of revenue for the good of a very small few, and I'm not to old to get out of my la-z-boy, I will personally see to it that the project never reaches fruition.
