Thomas Samuel was the son of William Longfellow and Mary Ann Swift. He married Emeline Jane Reeder abt 1843 and they had 7 children:1) William Brumfield Longfellow b.1 Jul 1844 2)Clarinda J. born 12 Jun 1846 3)Almeda b.27 Feb 1850 and she married to John Hayes. 4)Burl Leander b.17 Aug 1851,5)Miles Clinton b.25 Aug 1855 ,6)Alice Lilly b.16 Mar 1861, 7) Sarah Emma b.13 Feb 1869. Thomas resided in Henry,Indiana but left there during the Civil war and moved on to Blackford County,IN. He died on 14 May 1897 and was buried near Granville,IN.

Child # 4 Burl Leander Longfellow married in Buchanan,Berrien, MI.on 1 Jan 1874 Terrissa Lucretia Bates that was born 6 Aug 1853. They had four children: 1)Lucretia(Lutie)Longfellow,2)Burl,3)Alvin,and
4)Charles Howard Longfellow b.19 Jan 1893 in Jefferson Twp,MI who married on 22 Dec 1915 to Lena Miller that was born 22 Feb 1896 and they had 5 children:1)Helen Mary Longfellow b.5 Feb 1917,2)Charles Howard (Bud)b.8 Oct 1918,3)Robert Burl Longfellow b.9 Mar 1925,4)Carmen Jean b.12 Sep 1927, and 5)Thomas Nelson Longfellow b.8 May 1934. Charles Howard Longfellow died 2 May
1957 in Galien,Berrien,MI.
