English IV
World Literature
Thermals
Throughout your reading of George Orwell's 1984, you can access this site for some helpful images and information as well as links to several sites that may help you understand the novel or place it in a different context.  If you find anything particularly helpful, let me know.  If you find anything else online you think should be included, feel free to clue me in.

To begin, click on the underlined links below.
The Memory Hole
This website has an obvious political bias, but it is interesting despite that to take a look at how it tries to connect some of the ideas in Orwell's novel with actual events in your own lifetime.
The Complete Newspeak Dictionary
This is a great resource for terminology and specific examples for each within the novel.  If you're having trouble with terms or just want more modern examples for the terminology, this is the place to go.
1984 Online Text
Simply stated, this is one of the best sources for an online version of Orwell's novel in case you are outside of class and need to look back at a chapter or want to read ahead.
For those of you would like to have your grades included online, there is a link below to a Microsoft Excel file with the list of grades.  There are a couple of assignments currently not included on the sheet that will be included by the end of this week, but this gives you some idea where you are at.  Please, be aware that the two grades that completely change everything are the first journal check and the nonfiction book project.  If you are missing one or both, it kills your grade.  Low vocabulary quiz scores can also have a negative effect.  If there are any issues with the grades, let me know.  If you do not have Microsoft Excel (you can check it in the school), I will have the percentages in my gradebook in class for you as well.
