This was another hand me down car I got when dad got a 55 Chevy 210, V-8 with 3 on the tree, I never got to drive the 55 very often, but sure looked for races when ever I did.
Age 17, acting 17, me on the left and good buddy Orvis on the right. Man what a carefree age. Notice the cooool shoes and narrow roll on levies cuff. As you can see I had started taking the 47 apart, man did dad have a COW. Your destroying that car,ect..ect... He just didn't understand that you were not cool unless your car was nosed and decked and had primer all over it. Guess What the building in the back ground is????? Here's a clue, it had a Sears and Roebuck Catalog in it.
Would you belive Orvis is a DOCTOR, man those were the good ole days. Work on the car was going on and dad was still a very unhappy camper. I was playing with differant ideas for the grill at that time, notice bumper guards and fog lights are gone. Oh yeh, I told Orvis I got rid of one hood ornament and wasn't looking for a new one. What a NUT!!!!!
This is Phyliss, my high school sweetheart sitting on the car. As you can see, I had a full set of HIGH DOLLAR CADDY HUBCAPS and the best set of porta-walls money could buy. I was still working and trying differant things, check out pinstripping by headlight.
Younger brother Paul got the car after I got out of school and bought a 54 chevy hardtop. Car was now painted PURPLE and I had painted a picure of the THE ONE EYED ONE HORNED , FLYING PURPLE PEOPLE EATER on the trunk. That was a song from the fifty's.
